Kim Hunt, cert. psych., cert. AAB, Pg. Dip. CABC
Trained as a Companion Animal Behaviour Counsellor, Kim has been running a small behaviour practice via veterinary referrals since 2002 for a variety of companion animal species, but specialising in dogs.
Kim has also been running dog training classes from puppy to adult dogs, together with one to one training in the owners own home when appropriate for the past 20 years, and also has over 20 years experience as a Dog Agility Competitor, Trainer and Judge. Kim is a qualified agility instructor and offers training courses and seminars on handling, training and judging for pet dog owners, competitors, clubs and agility organisations.
Working as a dog warden for 5 years, Kim developed a keen interest in the welfare of rescue dogs and cats, which has led to her working extensively with Rescue centre staff across Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and South Yorkshire, training them in safe handling techniques and promoting environmental enrichment and good re-homing policies for the animals in these centres.
Flare was born in February 2010 and is the youngest in the family business. She is learning to potentially be a great Agility dog, loves to do Rally, Trick Training and is generally an all round fantastic addition. She regularly demonstrates in class, both obedience and agility and is a real asset to the organisation. She certainly shows she has a Flare for everything she is asked to do!
Joining me from rescue in 2014, Mijit works within all the classes to demonstrate. He is currently in the middle of his agility training and hopes to compete in the future. He may be a small dog but he has a huge personality and makes an impact with everyone he meets, particularly the children!
